The Intention Experiment

I have been talking about energy field and that of the baby and mother recently and how energetically those surrounding the pregant woman become the "womb surround". So that someone fearful, like a nurse, or a doctor with HIS intention to do a cesarean section will have strong impacts on the outcome. Of course, the opposite is true as well -- someone in the birth environment who is calm, knows how to settle their own emotions and reactions, and who believes in the ability of a woman to give birth will emit a different energy. Last week I talked about everything going on in the baby's surround -- during labor and birth, of course, but also during the prenatal period -- will effect the baby. A mother's home environment, her relationship with the father, at work, in her neighborhood are all part of the "outer womb".

Energy is one of those words that people get all jiggy about because it sounds "New Age" and that would be anti-Christian or "evil" or something. (Fear). So, before one discards the possibility out of fear, I want to challenge one to consider how one feels when one walks into a room full of people. We check out the enviornment and we "feel" for what is happening, who to connect with, whether to stay or go. We can be walking down the street towards another person and without consciously thinking about it we will make decisions about that person. That is energy. We can have a "sense" of our loved ones need far away. That connect is because of energy.

One can be in labor and when the shift changes and the new people come in, one has a reaction, a feeling. That is energy. So, here is an interesting experiment result sent to me by my friend, Jerry Vind, PhD, neurobiologist at www.pnri.net.

The Intention Experiment

A small miracle that happened on Sunday, March 11, 2007 at 5pm

You have received e-mails before from us about our work with ‘Living The Field’ and ‘The Intention Experiment’. Last week theory became reality, and it’s transforming news if you have ever wondered about your life and your place in the world.

Last weekend, 400 people sat for two days in a hall in central London and listened intently to some of the world’s leading physicists and teachers. They were all attending ‘The Intention Experiment’ conference, which was the official launch of a series of web-based experiments that promise to be the largest mind-over-matter studies ever undertaken. They also made history at 5pm on the Sunday, March 11, because they were all invited to take part in the world’s first transatlantic intention experiment. With the aid of a web link-up, they were able to see two leaves that had been positioned in a laboratory at the University of Arizona, 5,000 miles away.

The intention was simple. We agreed on one leaf that was to be the target, and we were going to make it glow – just by using our thoughts. Back in Arizona, light-sensitive cameras were trained on the chosen leaf, and the readings would be analysed to see if it started emitting more light. We expected the results back in a few weeks, as the data can be difficult to read. In fact, we heard the result just 48 hours later – the chosen leaf glowed so brightly that its transformation was visible to the naked eye.

Yes, our thoughts – and only our thoughts – altered a leaf that was 5,000 miles away. This simple experiment gives special meaning to the work we carry out at ‘Living The Field’. It’s based on the work of quantum physicists, spiritual leaders, gurus, healers, tribal leaders from the Amazon, the Australian outback, and the native Indians of America.

Science can now prove the spiritual experienceI discovered that this diverse group was all saying something similar – but, for the first time in man’s history, science is finally able to validate, explain and prove the spiritual experiences that man has had almost since the first dawn on Earth.

I’ve put all of these findings into a very special course called Living The Field, and I truly believe that if you decide to try it, it will be one of those life-changing occurrences that you can look back on as a seminal moment.A course that’s a community and a networkBut Living The Field isn’t just a course – it’s also a community and a network of like-minded people. And we also run regular conferences and workshops where you get the chance to listen to the world’s leading physicists and researchers, who talk about their very latest insights and inspiring discoveries.

As I mentioned, it started out with the discoveries of quantum physicists who demonstrated to me that:

  • there is a universal energy field, which we have called the Zero Point Field (ZPF) – hence the title ‘Living The Field
  • the ZPF is an alternative, and yet untapped, universal source of energy
  • we are all connected by the ZPF
  • this provides a solid scientific foundation for ‘psychic phenomena’ such as ESP, telepathy and healingwe are participating every moment in the creation of our world

From this, the Living The Field course:

  • gives you unique insights into your life, and what it means to be a human being
  • teaches you how to heal others
  • teaches you how to develop psychic skills such as ESP
  • teaches you how to be a ‘co-creator’ in your world
  • gives you a meaning that changes the way you see others, and everything that you do.

Living The Field is a masterclass in conscious living.Living

The Field forms a unique body of research that you won’t see anywhere else. It’s a satisfying and complete experience that gives everyone it touches new insight into their lives – even if you are not religious or don’t regularly go to church. (Interestingly, committed Christians who have studied the course say it has also given a scientific underpinning to their beliefs, and so it works with, and adds quality to, your own beliefs).

The eminent science commentator and communicator Sir Arthur C Clarke has said of us: “This important work stretches the imagination, making a good case that we are on the verge of another revolution in our understanding of the universe.”It’s a course, and a way of life, which has transformed many lives already.

Comments we have received include:

“ I have never been happy just to accept religion that’s been spoon-fed to me. Nonetheless, I have always kept an open mind and have looked out for something more in my life that could combine spirituality with science. In you I have found what I’ve been looking for. Thank you!” – ST, Norwich

“An enormous amount of information about living a holistically-integrated life.” – RJ, Stafford

“There was so much here I was unfamiliar with…and I thought I knew it all!” – AM, San Francisco

“The course is rich in its breadth and depth – I feel like I no longer need to get that degree in Consciousness Studies.” – PM, Seattle.

And other readers have been more concise in their comments:

“Wow!” – MW, York“Just brilliant!” – PN, New York

“A fascinating course.” – BD, Southampton“Liberating!” – RW, Los Angeles

“Food for the soul.” – BC, Brisbane“Great stuff!” – MO, Madrid

Ignore this message and nothing will happen. And that’s the problemOf course, you can ignore this message. And what will happen if you do? Absolutely nothing – your life will carry on as it did before – and that’s the problem. We all seem to spend our time just getting and spending, but we never get a moment to lift up our head and see the bigger picture.

That’s how most of us live, but this invitation can end the daily, pointless grind right now. The choice is yours: are you going to be among the vast majority who, at the end, finally ‘wakes up’ with the question: What was that all about? Or are you going to wake up when there’s still time, and find the answer now?A life of conscious and meaningful living can start so easily, just by clicking here.http://www.wddty.co.uk/shop/detail.asp?id=4685&did=&Curr=GBP

To help you make the decision that I know will transform your life, I would like to offer – as a FREE GIFT – the double-CD of our very first Living The Field conference. It features insightful and inspiring speakers such as Rupert Sheldrake, Larry Dossey, Gary Schwartz, Fritz-Albert Popp, indeed many of the science ‘heroes’ who featured in my book The Field, which started off the whole enterprise.

This is an invitation to take a road less travelled. I hope you will join me on this deeply enriching journey. It can begin today just by simply clicking here – making 2007 a very significant one for you, as it has already become for the 400 delegates who sat in a hall on Sunday, March 11th.

With all best wishes,

Lynne McTaggart

"Soft is the heart of a child. Do not harden it."

A public awareness reminder that things that happen behind the scenes, out of our sight, aren't always as rosy as we might think them to be. Perhaps its a restaurant cook who accidentally drops your burger on the floor before placing it on the bun and serving it to you. Here it's an overworked apathetic (pathetic) nurse giving my newborn daughter her first bath. Please comment and rate this video, so as to insure that it is viewed as widely as possible, perhaps to prevent other such abuse. -- The mother who posted this YouTube. How NOT to wash a baby on YouTube Are you going to try to tell me that "babies don't remember?" There is no difference to this baby's experience and the imprinting of her nervous system/brain and one that is held and cleaned by the mother or father either at the hospital or at home? By the way, this is probably NOT the baby's first bath. The nurse is ungloved. Medical staff protocol is that they can't handle a baby ungloved until is has been bathed (scrubbed if you've seen it) because the baby is a BIO-HAZARD -- for them. Never mind that the bio-hazard IS the baby's first line of defense against hospital germs.

Finally, A Birth Film for Fathers

Part One of the "The Other Side of the Glass: Finally, A Birth Film for and about Men" was released June, 2013.

Through presentation of the current research and stories of fathers, the routine use of interventions are questioned. How we protect and support the physiological need of the human newborn attachment sequence is the foundation for creating safe birth wherever birth happens.

Based on knowing that babies are sentient beings and the experience of birth is remembered in the body, mind, and soul, fathers are asked to research for themselves what is best for their partner and baby and to prepare to protect their baby.

The film is designed for midwives, doulas, and couples, particularly fathers to work with their caregivers. Doctors and nurses in the medical environment are asked to "be kind" to the laboring, birthing baby, and newborn. They are called to be accountable for doing what science has been so clear about for decades. The mother-baby relationship is core for life. Doctors and nurses and hospital caregivers and administrators are asked to create protocols that protect the mother-baby relationship.

Men are asked to join together to address the vagaries of the medical system that harm their partner, baby and self in the process of the most defining moments of their lives. Men are asked to begin to challenge the system BEFORE they even conceive babies as there is no way to be assured of being able to protect his loved ones once they are in the medical machine, the war zone, on the conveyor belt -- some of the ways that men describe their journey into fatherhood in the medicine culture.

The film focuses on the male baby, his journey from the womb to the world and reveals healing and integrating the mother, father, and baby's wounded birth experience. The film is about the restoring of our families, society, and world through birthing loved, protected, and nurtured males (and females, of course). It's about empowering males to support the females to birth humanity safely, lovingly, and consciously.

Finally, a birth film for fathers.

What People Are Saying About the FIlm

Well, I finally had a chance to check out the trailer and .. wow! It's nice that they're acknowledging the father has more than just cursory rights (of course mom's rights are rarely acknowledged either) and it's great that they're bringing out the impact of the experience on the newborn, but I'm really impressed that they're not shying away from the political side.

They are rightly calling what happens in every American maternity unit, every day, by its rightful name - abuse. Abuse of the newborn, abuse of the parents and their rights, abuse of the supposedly sacrosanct ethical principal of patient autonomy and the medico-legal doctrine of informed consent, which has been long ago discarded in all but name. I love it!

In the immortal words of the "shrub", "bring it on!" This film needs to be shown and if I can help facilitate or promote it, let me know.

OMG'ess, I just saw the trailer and am in tears. This is so needed. I watch over and over and over as fathers get swallowed in the fear of hospitals birth practice. I need a tool like this to help fathers see how very vital it is for them to protect their partner and baby. I am torn apart every time I see a father stand back and chew his knuckle while his wife is essentially assaulted or his baby is left to lie there screaming.

Thanks for sharing this. It was very touching to me. I thought of my brother-in-law standing on the other side of the glass when my sister had to have a C-section with her first child because the doctor was missing his golf date. I'll never forget his pacing back and forth and my realizing that he was already a father, even though he hadn't been allowed to be with his son yet.

In case you don't find me here

Soon, I'll be back to heavy-duty editing and it will be quiet here again. I keep thinking this blog is winding down, and then it revives. It is so important to me.

I wish I'd kept a blog of my journey with this film this past 10 months. It's been amazing.

I have a new blog address for the film, and will keep a journal of simple reporting of the journey for the rest of the film.

I'll be heading east this week to meet with a group of men. I plan to post pictures and clips on the film blog.

I'll keep up here when I can -- when I learn something juicy, outrageous, or inspiring related to making birth safer for the birthing baby.

Review of the film

Most of us were born surrounded by people who had no clue about how aware and feeling we were. This trailer triggers a lot of emotions for people if they have not considered the baby's needs and were not considered as a baby. Most of us born in the US were not. The final film will include detailed and profound information about the science-based, cutting-edge therapies for healing birth trauma.

The full film will have the interviews of a wider spectrum of professionals and fathers, and will include a third birth, at home, where the caregivers do a necessary intervention, suctioning, while being conscious of the baby.

The final version will feature OBs, RNs, CNMs, LM, CPM, Doulas, childbirth educators, pre and perinatal psychologists and trauma healing therapists, physiologists, neurologists, speech therapists and lots and lots of fathers -- will hopefully be done in early 2009.

The final version will include the science needed to advocated for delayed cord clamping, and the science that shows when a baby needs to be suctioned and addresses other interventions. Experts in conscious parenting will teach how to be present with a sentient newborn in a conscious, gentle way -- especially when administering life-saving techniques.

The goal is to keep the baby in the mother's arms so that the baby gets all of his or her placental blood and to avoid unnecessary, violating, and abusive touch and interactions. When we do that, whether at home or hospital, with doctor or midwife, the birth is safe for the father. The "trick" for birthing men and women is how to make it happen in the hospital.
